The women behind Pakistan’s uniThink look to empower students and entrepreneurs by providing effective solutions for research needs. They’re developing a platform that digitises research mediums, connecting researchers with the right communities and analysing the collected data.
Students from Kenya conceived the award-winning Culture Capture digital museum, which helps communities by preserving endangered cultures. Their minimum viable product is now well underway and not only are they doing something good, but they estimate they’ll hit the break-even point just 14 months after launch.
PLANTRIC is a self-sustaining gardening solution that composts food waste as well as fertilises and irrigates soil for plants, all in one system. They have been selected to participate in a special entrepreneurship program in their native Turkey and have begun their product-testing process.
Slovakian students turned heads at the 2020 Global Workshop with their Charging Revolution, an ingenious power bank that charges devices with a simple hand movement. They have now created a series of prototypes and have been the subject of a national television segment.
A Canadian team pitched TO Play – an art adventure game that empowers audiences to learn about environmental topics. TO Play is currently in production for a 2022 launch date and the team aim to continue creating interactive media for social progress.
Lava Aqua X
The UK team with the best idea of 2020 created a revolutionary clothes-washing machine that recycles shower water: Lava Aqua X. They have since been featured in Forbes and earned the Green Concept Award: Nominee badge, and they’re working to bring the product to market.
