The Global Final is the climax of Red Bull Basement, packed with opportunities for the finalist teams. At this celebration of student-driven innovation, teams will get access to a global network, immerse themselves in workshops and surprise activities, and refine their ideas right up to making their Final Pitch.
_01 Last year's Global Workshop
In 2020, 38 finalist teams from around the globe participated in an immersive, multi-day experience at the first entirely virtual Red Bull Basement Global Workshop. Mentorship sessions, panel discussions, keynote addresses and talks from global tech leaders and inspirational entrepreneurs provided access to experts. When it came to the Final Pitch, the UK's innovative Lava Aqua X idea for a water-saving clothes-washing machine was so compelling that the global judges named it the best of 2020.
Again in 2021, teams will refine their ideas and prepare for their Final Pitch with the help of international experts, mentors and fellow student teams. In these breakout sessions, anything can happen: during Global Workshops in Berlin (2018), Toronto (2019) and an ingenious virtual meeting space (2020), some teams added polish with finishing touches, while others radically reinvented their ideas, working against the clock until the last moment.
